Japan is a place where tradition meets modernity at every corner—whether it’s in the temples, the streets, or, of course, the food. If it’s not on your bucket list, add it immediately. During our 10-day stay in Tokyo and Kyoto, we dove deep into the culture, explored nearly every neighborhood, and indulged in some of the most memorable meals and drinks of our lives. We shopped for vintage, discovered hidden gems, and made a point of seeing the sights that blend the old with the new. If you’re wondering where to go, what to eat, and what to sip on during a trip to these two iconic cities, here’s everywhere we ate, drank, shopped, and visited during our stay in Tokyo and Kyoto (and some additional spots from friends' lists we didn’t have time to hit).
